so is is bad if ive got a pcv breather filter on the front, and a hose going straight back into the block in the back? on an sr.

You've got to be kidding me.

EMS is engine management system. I was guessing you weren't running a tuned ECU, in which case the best thing you can do for the engine is run a tuned ECU, whether it's a ROM tune or full standalone - this is much more important than a catch can. Catch cans just keep oil from getting into the intake, which would cause smoke and power loss... not engine damage.

Please, please, please do some research. Read about EMS, catch cans, turbo timers (hint: waste of money), compressor maps, etc. THEN start your build.

Or do what everyone else does, half-ass it, turn up the boost, and come back in 3 months with rod knock.

I'm 99.5% positive this sr is bone stock. lol A proper catch can setup is the correct way to evacuate nasty blowby vapor from your head. Do it.

If it is bone stok, it should have the bone stock catch can.

Nissan engineers don't spend money on things that dont matter.
