Default FREE carbon fiber s13 silvia hood!!!

ok guys, comes with stipulation. were looking to make an OEM style full on race style hood for the s13 sil front.

we need your stock silvia hood for 2-3 weeks

we will give you back your stock hood, any imperfections repaired and primered, pluss a new carbon fiber hood.

were looking to build a complete race hood, no under webbing, just 2 layers of carbon, 2 layers of kevlar. you would attach the hood with dzeus fasteners or pins all the way around, and would probably be in the 7 lb range.

its fairly simple, a couple brackets that mount under the top of the fenders. rbmike... thats pretty much all the info i have/ there is to give. your not going to see this style/quality of hood again, unless were selling it... and full carbon/kevlar.... it wont be the cheapest hood on the market, but it will be the lightest

well kinda what im getting at is if you make the rear of the hood with a slider that slid into the oem hood hinge and some hood pins in the front it might make this a bit easyer to swallow dzues fastners can be a pain from time to time and can fail when you ie. brake when you over tighten then and have the on and off a number of time's a perimiter frame around the hood although I know its not what your wanting to do is a major strength point and im just saying this due to if you have sombody hualing ass at 130+mph and air gets caught up under the hood a small fastener point can pull off if the hood is used proporly it is one thing but the greater majority of the users will be out screwing around at high speeds and well shit happens. all in all i think its a fun idea but you have to make sure people under stand what it's track use is and be sure they know high speed use comes at there own risk.

are you kidding? what do you think race cars hold their body panels on with?

the sprint cars i worked with all last year used all the same dzues hardware from the start of the season till the end and they took all the body panels off after every race and never have an issue.

so why would someone have an issue using them to attach the hood to their car in this instance?

*edit* and how exactly does someone over tighten a dzues fastener?
