alright so here's the deal. I just bought a short shifter. It came with the old base plate and everything so i'm thinking hey why not just pull this whole mother fucker off right?

well here is where i am at right now.

and my problem is getting these two bolts off. they are up in there.

go ahead and call me stupid but i would rather look stupid than fuck something up and not be able to get to work tomorrow. thanks

 

oh and to save myself from having to post another thread, how do i take the small ball at the bottom out? I'm sure this will be obvious once i get there but i figure since my hands are clean now you guys can help. much appreciated

 

Those bolts are a pain in the ass, you can drop the trans bracket and use a socket.. Or find a gear wrench and do that.

The bottom ball, just slides out with the bushing.. Then you just slide the new shifter in, all done.

well gear wrench, or its china knock offs. I use HFT gear wrenches, I love them.

 

either way, a whole gear wrench set is now on my christmas list of shit I want. That way i dont have to drive my car like that to borrow my dads lol

 

i cheated with a dremel lol
