trust me... these people don't get surprised... they make their livings doing this crap...
and if they want your car, they will find it... car meets aren't actually where they find cars, too many people know everyone there, and too many people take too many pictures... the risk is way too high... they scout at gas stations, and grocery stores and places everyone goes to...

you've got that right...
they use the same style jacks that tow truck drivers use... look like little fork lifts... they put one on each wheel, jack the car up and roll it away...

I wont go into details about my security but its 20x more than your typical tr'r. And i'm sure not in all instances at car meets, but for random ricer spots where there are more than 50cars in a given area on one night of random people. All i'm trying to say is its not hard for someone to walk around and memorize plate numbers.

those aren't the ones you have to worry about... those are the one or two people that are looking for a fun/easy car to steal and part off and make a few bucks or whatever... these professionals don't look up plate numbers because there is a path that links them to that stolen car... again, adding too much risk... the ones you need to worry about are the ones that will follow you home, and scout out the neighborhood at all different parts of the night and day...

and trust me... it doesn't matter how much security you have on your car, if they want it, they will get it. period. you are a fool to think otherwise.
you have to have the mindset that a lock only keeps and honest person honest. It does not matter how bad ass the lock is, or the security or anything, it all all defeat-able, and trust me, these people know how to defeat them. all you can do is get your car back before they have a chance to do anything to it... thats why lo-jack and similar things are so great.. sure, have a security system to slow them down, but honestly, the only ones that are worth a shit are the ones that have a pager system that will alert you the moment anything is happening. an alarm doesn't mean shit. What did you do that last time you heard an alarm? run over and investigate? i doubt it... they can't take the time to search the car for the lo-jack unit while they are stealing it... they take the car to a spot to do all of that sort of work to it.. if you have a pager that tells you your car is moving without permission, then you can call the cops immediately, get lo-jack turned on and track down the car within minutes. worst case, they can't find the car because the lo-jack unit was already destroyed and lo-jack buys you a new car...

Very true, and i'll just leave it at the fact that i have even more than a pager system set up on my car. I hope golfie finds his car, i cant even begin to fathom how much that sucks.

Pager going off doesnt mean its time to call the cops, pager means the owner is coming outside, and a little red dot will be on someone.

It does matter how good the security system is, and measures you take, it all makes things a hell of a lot harder on someone wanting to take your shit.

There are lots of ways to make an alarm system work better, most just dont care to put the time/money/effort into it.

why dosent some one set up an easy car to steal with a tracking system and shut these bitches down, stay up all night and or don't call the cops just tie them up after you taser them in your drive way and burry them neck high in dirt in the woods and then shovel fire ant piles on them
