Overheating problem

Default Overheating problem

So my 240 keeps overheating. Ive changed the radiator, thermostat and thermostat housing. It only happens at idle and no other times. Anyone have any ideas? and before you ask yes it still has the fan shroud on it. Im gettin sick of workin on the fuckin thing any help would be awesome.

see if you have oil in your coolant, vice/versa.

i'd look at the thermostat
if ya bought it from discount then ditch it


had many of them not open

remove your thermostat, i run my cars without them with no issues. inspect your water pump.

Where did you get the radiator from? You know for a fact its good? def. Check thermostat and water pump. I don't really see the water pump going bad since there made well. But it could happen.

If it was the water pump wouldnt it overheat all the time and not just at idle

not entirely true. when your car is moving there is an obvious increase in airflow and in engine rpms (which turns the pump faster), the pump could be fucked up but not completely toasted therefor only providing the right amount of coolant flow in higher rpms.
