Mine was the same way. The idle was very rough before the DLI, now its smoooth.

To the OP: A guy up here was trying to sell me his Splitfires or trade them to me for some random parts. If you don't mind buying used, I can call him and see how much he wants for them.

Yeah, my old head really liked having those splitfires. The CNC chamber made idle and low speed combustion a little weaker than it was, but the hotter spark really cleaned it right up. If you can't tell by the way it runs, you could smell the difference idling (no cats). Of course the CNC chamber was great for resisting knock at high boost levels on pump!
Yea, for now I'm going to have to turn the idle up to 1000rpms to keep it running when I stop.

what sort of gains (if any) will be noticed on a mostly stock motor running splitfires? My clip came with a set

Everything that I have read about them say you'll get about 2hp, they are more about keeping a strong spark with a lot of fuel and air being blasted in the chamber and it should smooth out the idle.

anyways yeah i was thinking about getting the spitfire set but that would be in the future or when i do a build on my other motor.
