i went into an Autobacs (in Oita) when i was 16, while we were waiting for seats at the restaurant in the same plaza. Back then i really didnt care too much about cars, but i was just getting into em since at the time my brother had a TT z32.

for people bitching about paying for name brand parts, you guys apparently dont realize the R&D that goes into developing parts that in turn reflects in the MSRP price. Knock offs dont have all that money into R&D therefore they can sell for less.

also in the case of US based UpGarage or Autobacs store, shipping is what kills the price, even if you ship everything Cargo Ship in a huge container...that reflects in the pricing as well as the need to profit. (dont know if you realize most of these are used parts)

Shipping is it, thank you Shinmei. I bought Pon's wheels for less than $800 buckls from Up Garage.....but I paid way more than that to get the tires dismounted, rims packaged, and shipped to the states....

I almost bought my second set from there last week...dam someone needs to buy my VSKF's...

the "JDM tyte" mark up more than covers the cost of a container.... indevidual stuff like wheels, yeah expensive, but when it's all crammed into a container, the shipping price drops... at that point, it's ripping people off, cause the use te "JDM" tax...

i should get into that biz...

ok so markup covers the cost of the container....then you have to pay the duty tax on the items, then you have to pay the rent for the store, then you pay the employees...and hopefully you make enough to feed yourself.

all of this is reflected in the price of the product.

also to start any business you have to be able to leave the house

OH!!!! low blow!!!!

i leave the house all the time.... hell, i'm going to clawhammers tomorrow to put all my suspension on, and then off to firestone to get it all alinged up... spent about 2hrs at his house today chillin...

i understand the mark up, but it just seems kinda crazy to pay that much...

i'd go to japan, check the place out, go to Ups, and get some cool shit and come back.. it would be nice to have a place like that locally tho....

^ haha minor burn..

but yea blackzenki... if you really think about it its costly to get all this stuff here and after paying everything to actualy make a profit... u wouldnt do it if u wasnt making a profit... it would not be worth it to you... same for the ones that bring all this shits to the states... they have to compensate themselved for all the work to bring the stuff here. best thing is having some1 there to ship u shits... or bring it while on a trip there... das it...

but if u intersted in going over and bring some stuff back pm me.
