yeah man, i know it's been around, but i've never seen a walk through video like this before...

it's a smorgasbord of awesome... as for the $1 brake pads, remember, those prices are in Japanese Yen... so $1k yen, equals out to roughly $10.50 USD....

we got alot of JDM tax here in the states, cause well, it's so JDM tyte yo... supply and demand

That was 99900 yen, so $1,041 when converted to USD. Owned you all.

david, he said $1k brake pads, not $99k Brembo BBK.... and hell, get that price at $1k USD here in the states, that brembo set up would rock $1.5-$2kish easy here, well, not TR, but like Zilvia and Nico...

Just watched the video. It's not the pricing that gets me, it's the stuff you never see at that price. They actually didn't have all that much if you realize it's also toyota/honda/mitsu/sub/etc.

What got me that the EVO 6.5 Tommi Makinen Edition in the parking lot. Very rare. And then they have another set of TME seats inside! lol. Just when you think things are hard to find...

If some one opened a shop like that here, it would get broken into constantly and it would do horrible because no one is going to spend the money on real parts when they can buy knock offs for 1/3 the price.

Super Autobacs had two stores out in cali and both are now closed.

not just the lack of buying name brand stuff, it would be the mark up that shop had on all it's parts, most of the prices in that video were pretty much TR pricing.... if that same shop was here, double the cost on everything...

there would be a huge shop mark up, cause most of those parts here in the US would get a "it's so rare JDM tax" and not to mention the ever present "JDM Tyte yo" tax.... if there was an Ups Garage in our area, no one would shop there, cause everything would be over priced... like the motors, hell in japan, you can scoop up a fresh SR20DET full swap for around 3-5 hundo... here, the older red tops go for as high as $2 grand...

the mark ups would kill a shop like that here in the US, and people wonder why, and talk shit to the people who buy knock off stuff... case in point, GReddy and thier way overpriced stuff, you can get a FReddy many for $100 shipped, get it extrude honed, port matched, polished/powder coated whatever, and have a better manifold, for under half the cost of an untouched GReddy unit...

yes, that is exactly why. And some of the suspension parts you can get online are welded the same and use the same if not better grade of metal. Their just a slightly different design and this dose not make them shitty but compare them to a $800 set while they are $200-$400 shipped. not always but some times you do pay for the name. this goes for seats. you can get a PAIR of carbonfiber racing bucket seats slim fit design with nice cloth thats not shitty and with a Great cushion design for $400 SHIPPED. remind me of the sparco fighter seats and they are for a 5 point harness.
