Cluster problem... grrrr
I have a 96 obdII s14 and I keep blowing my 10a "tail light" fuse. It causes my entire cluster to go out along with the lights for my oil pressure and boost gauge. I've replaced it like 5 times and it keeps going out. I don't know what the problem is. Nothing is grounded out, my dimmer switch is working fine and I don't have a radio in my car. Help please! I'm sick of driving with an unlit cluster at night.
okay, i checked the FSM, what you need to do, is turn your lights on, step out of the vehicle with the door open, step back about 3-4 feet, pull up the shot gun, pump and fire directly into your cluster... should fix all according to Section 13 part B of the Nissan S14 FSM...
for real, pull the cluster, make sure none of the wires therein are "crossing" then back track the wiring...
now if if blows your gauge lights too, then you might need to remove them from that fuse, as that load might be blowing them...
i have all my stuff ran to the top right IGN fuse, that way, my gauges, EBC and FATT all come on together when the key is on the "On" position... been running like that for about 8 months, no problems...
although i have been contemplating running my gauge lights to my cluster fuse, so they come on with the cluster, but hearing your prob, i think i'll leave em alone...
good luck with it

The gauges are wired to come light up when I turn on my headlights. They are also connected to the dimmer switch. Curtis, I need to see how you wired your gauges up. This shit is pissing me off.
