I still have a cool gray car without any silly shit on it. Face it, if someone wants to get noticed at a drift event, a mouse gray or Ivory soap white car isn't going to help even if you've got talent dripping out of your rectum.

Like it or loathe it, you'll look at it. The paint gets you to pay attention to the car and driver more. That was the goal. Plus, Sean likes it, it's his car.

By the by, my hatchback will be 2 tone factory Seafoam Green with gray rockers. Nothing fancy. Always wanted that color combo but could never find one that was worth half a shit.

 

I agree completely that color makes the car stand out, but it doesnt have to look ugly for it to have paint that stands out.. here are a few examples











all cars that look dope as shit but dont look like some half ass ghetto shit... car can stand out and still look good.

 

You can spend 2-300 hundred and a weekend worth of time and have a badass paintjob.

100$ for single stage eastwood paint
100$ for a cheap devibliss gun
30$ mis sand paper/bondo
30$ for tape and masking paper
30$ for a air line dryer
2-3 days of work
Success.

I used Eastwood's Tunnel Ram Metalic Grey for my engine bay.

I think his car would be better liked if it had a nice paint. You'd have enough left over for touch up work as well for when things get broken!

 

single stage is never a good idea unless you plan on getting rid of the car after like 6 months before the paint goes to shit...

but you can pick up a complete base coat clearcoat urethane kit for like $200 and walmart actually has a half way decent gravity feed spray gun for like $35

 

Walmart guns suck, I've used them and I hate them.

You can buy clear for the paint for an extra hundred. And you dont need it. Single stage paints will last 2-3 years if well taken care off. Its all in the prep work, do a good job and your paint will last a good while.

 

The car obviously needs bodywork before any serious effort on paint is made.
