i was out drifting the other day and my car died out and would not start i figued out that the fuel pump was not turning on is that becuase its broken?? or is that a relay that went bad?? where is the relay on an s14?? jw thanks alot ~~

there is a fuse box on the pass side under the hood should say fuel pump relay..

and do you hear it turn on or no?

naa it turns on but really lightly it like clicks and sounds like someone is sucking air threw a straw

might be ur fuel filter could be clogged.
and ur fuel pump humms the relays click

yeah its hard to explain like when i turn the before you can hear the whole fuelpump turn on no problem now i cant hear it at all.. and when we took it out of the tank and tried to turn it on it would make noise but it was really really dead sounding... it sounded like it was sucking air but not very good... but my friend said when i turned the key he could feel power though the wires... soo im guessing if im getting power back there the pump is just bad.. ??

so you pulled the pump out and turned it in and it sounded bad well it is sucking in air which is bad.
and if it turns on it should be good.
if you pull the fuel lines off the fuel rail turn the key forward if no fuel flys out could be bad pump or filter so check it out..

yeah well listen the pump is out of the tank thats why its sucking in air i have no choice really and like i said you can hear it click on (the pump) but its very quiet yeah its turnign on but its not as loud as it use to be... you can scream in my ear while i turn on my fuel pump and i would hear but that was before.. now i cant hear shit... you have to pull the pump out of the tank to hear anything...

and thats what he siad he felt the wires where hot soo idk,,

yeah i was just trying to ask if anyone knew the issue before i spend the money on a pump for nothing seince i dont make much money these days
