This might sound really retarded, but the maf sensor is always connected to the intake pipe, right? It goes, throttle body, intake pipe, maf sensor, and then you're just screwing with the filter at the end, right?

It sounds like you're pulling the maf sensor off when you put the AEM filter on.

And that monologue about the filter flowing more air is garbage. It doesn't matter at idle. The engine sucks air, and it's regulated by the closed throttle body. The filter poses as-near-as-makes-no-difference no restriction at idle whether it's a stock filter or the space shuttle's iridium air filter.

i have a weird problem too.... gotta call a tow truck EVERYTIME, and it's getting quite pricey... here's my prob...

everytime my F/E gauge that has what looks like a little gas pump goes dow to ehatever the "E" means, i get this yellow light that looks like a gas pump, well that light will stay on, and not change when i go to autozone for my carbon fiber decal roll (i'm doing some awesome racing stripes), and to get my LED windshield squirters, and have them clear my codes... anyways, about 3-4 miles later, my car cuts off and wont turn back on, it just turns over, and sputters every once in a while... can anyone help?
