I have a 1993 hatch, with a blacktop in it. used to have a/c as friend used to have the car, I got the car a couple months ago and the lines were disconnected from the compressor. Hooked em up figuring it would do nothing and was correct. I tried to charge it with 134a and it won't take the freon, the compressor does not turn on but If I jump It it will spin but still does not swallow the freon.It wouldn't be a big deal but this is my females car... IM a lil annoyed so any suggestions would be nice. I don't get why it wont take the freon when the compressor is jumped, seems like it should take it, I removed the nipple on the low side and the freon flows just fine through it.

bring it back to basics...did you vacuum the system? are you using an a/c machine or one of those stupid autoparts store cans? replace dryer? purge the system while diconnected or flush to free from contaminents?

 

um reflush youf system, replacer dehydrator since those go bad if u leave em open for more then a hour.

 

needs to be properly sealed and vacuumed. the compressor will not kick on if it notices low fluid levels, and you need a new dryer canister if the system has been opened.

i vacuumed mine out long ago and it took a few cans of the "stupid autoparts" store stuff, and it works flawlessly.

your best bet is just to take it somewhere and have it charged.
its not that expensive, and will be done correctly.
just replace the o-rings and dryer first.
