Default My S13 Build Thread

May as well get this started, made some progress yesterday and today, probably going to go a bit slow from here...

The engine: Removed from an 02 escalade, mileage unknown as it had an interior fire that melted the gauge cluster. Inside of engine is very very clean. Picture is after installation of GTO oil pan and C5 engine mount brackets.

Mock up T56, put it together with a spare case I had, and the LS1 front plate and bellhousing from the trans i'll be using, made things easier not having a full weight T56 while doing several test fits on the engine:

Drivers side engine mount, uses polyurethane GM transmission mounts upside down, lot of people use hockey pucks, I like these better:

Shot of the engine itself in there, with LS6 Intake manifold.

Engine to radiator clearance, that balancer is the Escalade one, I'm going to be switching to complete Corvette front accessorys, which im quite sure are much closer to the engine, so I should have some pretty decent clearance for the fans.

Hood closed on it

Yeah, i've got a 3" setup, with the silencer that i'll probably keep in it, probably going to do manifolds and dual catalytics into a Y pipe to the existing catback, so hopefully it'll be reasonably quiet.

Later on i'll probably swap the catback I have for an Apexi GT Spec, with the active tail silencer

I made the mounts with it sitting 1/4" above the rack, its got good clearance front and rear, and the swaybar should bolt right in place and have some clearance too, the endlinks are on, just not the main mounts, but I could push it like it was in its place and had good space.

Really wish the transmission tunnel had more space, it got beat quite a bit with the hammer, which I didnt really like, but with the swap you dont have a choice, if there was more space I could have went a little higher with the engine.
