Here is the D1 regulations: minimum 6 point cage

1. Each car must be equipped with a six-point or better roll cage. Full front A pillar beams are required as well as door impact protection beams.

2. Functional tow hooks must be installed on both front and rear of vehicle

3. Roll cage must be welded or securely bolted and anchored. If roll cage is bolted then its must be securely reinforced with an anchor plate and backing plate sandwich on each side of the floor pan.

4. Roll cage may be placed in front or through the dashboard.

5. Roll cage tubing must be at a minimum of 1.25 inches OD tubing and no thinner than 0.098 wall mild steel or 1 .25x .083 Chromoly tubing.

RECOMMENDED ROLL CAGE
HIGH FRONT HOOP OPEN AND CLOSED, GT

that should let you be able to compete in just about any drift event you can think off... qualifiers, comps, champs, D1GP etc....

street tandems = uber fail, for real, a small drift on a back road is one thing, but tandems? save that shit for the track...

contrary to popular belief, street racing is NOT cool...

i would say attend a bucn of events, and open practices, you don't even need a cage for those, just a helmet, and a fire extinguisher, save your cage money, pay some entry fees, learn how your car really handles on a track, cause on the track, you can reall feel free to throw your car around... no fear of cops, trees, mail boxes, etc... just the wall... other than that, the worst is cones, and those are nice and soft...

get good on the track, and then get your cage, ter tech will have thier qualifier next year, get some decent seat time on a closed course, then compete... you might think you're compitition ready cause you're "drifting" on the street with some other 240 guys doing controlled burnouts lol (that's what most people call drifting, noobs), but the track is a different animal....

get seat time, worry about a cage later bro, for an everyday event, you wont even need one...
