If you want to "go fast" save up some money and swap to a TT motor. Thats pretty much your only option. The chassis will hold the power fine. 300hp or so isnt going to twist anything.

Thanks to all who have posted serious help thoughts. And as for all those who have nothing better to do then correct my grammer. get a job move out of mom and daddys house and go screw yourselves. I mean really if you don't have any useful advise then why did you even respond??? I was warned by a co worker who told me about this site that there are a lot of 20 somthing year olds with nothing better to do, who are just a bunch of assholes. Well you proved him correct.

if you wanna "go fast" just duck tape a ki of columbian bam bam underneath your car and call the cops 
verts can be fast, powerline's old s13 vert is pushin 525 at the moment, with plans on making mid 600s on pump... don't underestimate them

you dont have to be light to be fast. in the event that he wants a quick street car the weight can be an advantage, giving him more stability at higher speeds.

do intake, exhaust, a set of pulleys, vh45 throttle bodies, injectors and a tune.
I wouldnt recommend spaying it.
other than that you can TT swap it or boost what you have depending on how solid your bottom end is.
