Default no power band?

okay i just picked up a ka24de s13 n the person i got it from said it had cams n the timing was adjusted for them...of course i pull the vc & OEM cams lol...
anyways The car runs great pulls really hard low @ low rpms but seems to not have any power band after that or lets say dies off @ higher rpms...
im thinking it the timing if it really is tweak'd...Compression was pretty much 180psi across...lmk any other suggestions?

It's a KA...

Put a turbo on it if you want your "power band" back.

try messing with the distributor, don't pull it out(thats what she said) just move it back and forward all the way see how it runs, then move it back all the way and see how it runs. If that does nothing than try re-timing the motor.

The puttering out is called Dieseling...

Best I can do... I can't even figure out my own cars issues... so I'll help where I can.

Don't believe so, I had a 255 in my old hatch and never had that issue.
