this is odd.

when i was sohc auto ka in my white coupe, i would just drive like grandma everywhere with the a/c on. almost never floored it, ever.

then i was dohc ka, a/c everything, and i floored it all over the place. the car actually felt slower, if that makes any sense.

then s14sr with 6psi, and i would floor it up to the speed limit or so. past that it was pointless. I think i would run it up through the gears once a day or so.

then back to drippy the KA, man , that thing would get beat on almost every day, from every stoplight. that poor engine was the best goddamned engine i've ever not owned. i kid you not, if there's ever an engine candidate for a 200whp KA, it's drippy.

now with the hot rod SR i almost never floor it. partially because i'm terrified of it coming apart, partially because it's just too freaking fast to get on it until 4th gear or so. i find it some weeks i don't even open the wastegate on the thing. then all of the sudden i have to merge, and i go from almost getting killed by the car behind me to almost rear ending the semi truck a quarter mile ahead of me in 3 seconds. it's sort of ridiculous.

however with all that power it's as if i never use it. these days i'm all concerned with fuel mileage, drivability, and oil management.

only when hondas pull up next to me reving their engine or honking at me from across the street and reving their engines as Im turning trying to get my attention, cut 5 cars off and nearly hit 1 in a panic to "race" my car while their giant spoilers almost side swipe a miror off some ones car. then i run my car. other than that its my dd around town and taking off from stop lights fast makes import owners look like asses.

anywho. I drive a spec V so I just look like a honda kid when I get on it. unless of course I am running the basic honda mentioned above.

 

I drive like an elderly man. Flooring it in traffic is pointless.

 

before my car was track only i ripped it to revlimiter in 3rd off the bottle every other day but on the bottle for races only because like you i am very afraid of it coming apart.... i drive 4 over the speed limit max..... yes i am a grandma yes my insurance is cheap haha

 

Hardly ever since the LEO's around here are just itching to give someone a street racing/exhibition of speed ticket....that and there is hardly a point of going past 55 in traffic

 

Only time I even crack the throttle open, is to merge when someone is being a dick. Other than that I do my 5-9 over the speed limit. But I do occasionally leave the lights a little faster than most, not spinning the tires or anything. Just giving it 50-75% throttle instead of 25%...

On top of that, my car is too slow to think I am going fast anyway.

 

well when my shit is running/good i drive it normal unless a friend is drivng next to me well then i have a heavy foot.other than that 5-6 mhp over the posted speed limit..
