Default Clutch issue

I'm buying a new clutch but I'm having some issues with tossing it into 1st gear, is it because it was super cold and i didn't warm the car up??

These trannys don't like 1st gear ever. Being so cold outside doesn't help. I've never driven an FS5W71C that didn't have a tough 1st.

The clutch I have now is giving me the issues. I'm thinking of picking up a new clutch but I'm going to wait till Mike can drive the car / give me a idea but I don't want to jump the gun if like Epstein said its a tough 1st gear for the tranny.

I second this. My s14 has been tougher than usual to get into gear the last few days, due to the cold. Once its warmed up its much smoother.

Plus 1st gear doesn't have synchros, does it? i.e. you can't put it into first while rolling up to a stop? that was my understanding, but I've never really tried I suppose.

yes, you can, and yes it does, but going from 1.902 --> 3.321 is a much bigger step than say, 1.308 - 1.902

i don't have any problems getting back into first either way.

Well it seems to not like to go into first gear when I'm rolling. I'm not sure why, let me say this; this is my first 240 so I really don't know much.

that's like saying our 15 year old engines don't like getting 16psi of boost on the t25 put through them. but we do it.
