uhh, i have z32 front, s13 rear, and my brake bias is just fine.\q45 should be even less fronts. i hardly ever lock mine up. use less pedal maybe?

and, if you didnt overheat stock brakes at vir, you werent going fast enough.

you may be right, but it was my first HPDE and every brake zone was making me pucker up... i do remember coming into the paddock area after being out on track and seeing ford focus's brakes smoking and later to find out the rotors and pads cracked. i was never once passed on the track by any of the focuses so i guess the brake setup i was running wasnt doing to bad.

and longfellow, yes, my s13 is full weight.

i just installed the z32 master and i don't think it woulda make a difference. My stock one was going out (LOL factory part from 1990). 7/8 to 1 inch wasn't worth the double flaring the second brake line. What rear brakes do people run? I know the s14s fit but don't make a big difference.

What were you looking for going with a bigger bore master cylinder?

i put larger J30 brakes on and the master cylinder seemed like it had dead room. It was really just a bad stock master cylinder. They were the same price so i went with the z32
(thanks reece)

i've faded ever kind of brakes there are, even brembo's. how u set them up is mroe important than what kind they are. pad/fluid selection will do more for pedal feel than even a master cylinder. q45/j30 is better imo than z32 for s13/14. unless you are going to use complete z32, which means fronts, rears, and the master. a set up like that feels good and works good.

I really do like the set-up and finding nice aftermarket rotors for an se-r spec v wont be hard. J30 pads that are better than stock will be harder to come by but not by much. I finally had a chance to really try out the brakes and they stop the car better than I was hoping for. The lock up point went down a lot with the z32 master (my old stock master was on its way out).

To get a little bias shifted towards the back again look up the Z31 bracket mod. There is a write up on freshalloy about it.

You use a Z31 rear bracket and a larger rotor off a maxima or older Q but still use the stock caliper. It increases rotor diameter a fair amount.
