Default stripped oil feed on block:(

just bought this sr, getting ready to put it in and i notice the oil feed threads on the block are stripped...what is the best thing to do?

helicoil insert from parts store or drill and tap it.

Seen a Buddy do a helicoil on a head bolt once.. its still holding good!!

The Helicoil kit, for its oddball size is like $80 at napa. Nobody else had it that I could find. I still have the kit from mine if thats how you want to do it, PM me and we can work something out if you just want to borrow the tool and an insert.

or if you dont feel confident doing it yourself you can take it to a machine shop and have them do it. probably 20-30 bucks??

The same thing happened to my block and I had it drilled and tapped with A/N fittings. Works awesome.

happened on mine too, i sealed it off and ran my oil line from a t on my sending unit
