Default Need electrical help

Ok so i just finished rebuilding my entire motor, (ka) and i dropped it in my car earlier this week. I hooked up the entire harness everything was connected. The harness that came with the car was pretty ruined but my car ran ok with it before. There was a speaker wire running from my fuse panel inside the car, to the plug for the starter on the harness. I was told that was what was powering the starter. So after hooking up everything, we tried to start it just to turn it over to prime it (so it doesnt start up dry). Turned on ACC, everything seems ok, turn the key to start, starter goes click, then the main power fuse blows out. So i turned off everything and pulled out the key but all the guage cluster lights stayed on. I figured it was the harness so i got a new harness that wasn't all frayed with wires showing lol. Hooked everything up again (speaker wire still plugged in). Turn on ACC, turn the key to start, starter clicks once again and boom the fuse blows out again. Pull out the key, cluster lights still on. WTF!!

So last attempt today, I put in another fuse, UNPLUGGED the speaker wire and tried again. ACC on, i turn to start, nothing. Starter didnt click, fuse didnt blow. It just didnt do anything. Pull out the key, cluster lights still on.

Sorry for the essay but im trying to make it as clear to you all as possible.
Im thinking 2 things may be wrong now. Either i have blown ECU, or a bad starter. Honestly i think its both. Lmk what you think. Thanks and again sorry for the essay lol.

sounds like something is grounding out or the starter is cooked. Bad ECU Possibly? i guess thats where the grounding out would come into play.

I'd look into getting a new harness as the one you've got is so ghetto-rigged that it's impossible to tell what, if anything, is still good.

Yeah i replaced the ghetto fab harness i had with a new one thats fine. But it still did the same thing. And i don't know why my cluster stays on when i take the key out. Thats why i think its the ECU. And the starter doesnt seem to be getting power at all so it may be fried. Im gonna try a new(er) starter and see if it changes, and also try and get a known working ECU.
