Clutch just stopped working....

Default Clutch just stopped working....

ok i was driving to a freinds house and i go to switch gears and i push the clutch down and its really soft and it wont go into gear. i checked the reservoir and its full, and my freind checked and the slave cylinder is working, please help its my only car.

ps its a 240sx

hahahaha you answered it when you said it was a 240.... i kid i kid... check the lines to see if one may have got puntcherd maybey ran something over....

If the slave is working and the fork is moving, perhaps the fork lever is bent. If the lever is moving and its not working your going to have to take it apart.

how do i check the fork and its it a expensive fix if its the fork?

just had a similar problem, replaced the master cylinder, fixed problem

haha. your car is totally broken and you should sell it to me for 5 bucks. jfwy.

it could be the master cylinder, but I would start by bleeding the hyrdraulic system first. it can be a bit of a pain if you still have that looped hardline dampener thingy.

in addtion to the lever being bent, the fork could have come off of or broken the pivot ball.

could also be as simple as readjusting your pedal. goodluck.

does the clutch return or stick down? have you had your friend look at the slave while you push it in? is it actuating? squirting fluid from a pinhole? did you look at the pedal to see if the pin/bolt holding it to the master is in place securely?

If the throw on the slave is where its supposed to be, the fingers on the pressure plate dont have enough strength to fight the springs to get it to release. Time for a new clutch.
