Dont listen to any of these assholes.

Search HybridZ. Lots of LS1 300zx's on there, you're not the first one at all.

uhhh Fuck man, just go pick up a Camaro.. I actually have a good friend selling a 98' Z28 that has a Ls1 in it. I just dont see the point in doing this.. Id understand if you had a lighter S-chassis.

its way cheaper then trying to make custom parts/buying the motor to put it in a 300zx, just buy a camaro and save yourself the headache.

You're going to be considerably towards the "ouchmybankaccthurts" figure.

As far as better, depends on what you are after exactly, and how much you like working on the wedged in there VG30 compared to things being much easier to work on with an LSx in there.

17/26 mpg on the LS1 with 320 HP/ 345 FT lbs

16/22 mpg for the VG30DETT 300HP/280FTlbs

LS1 will get anywhere from 11 - 18 city depending on how you drive it, same for the Z32.

on the highway they are about the same, TTZ's often get 28mpgon the highway

LS1 F bodys also often get 30-32 Highway.

I wouldnt be surprised if city mileage did end up the same, but highway i'm sure the LS1 will end up doing a few more.

maybe because he likes the styling of the z32>camaro? but i highly doubt that if you are asking these sort of questions that you would be able to fabricate and install anything. its cool to have hopes and dreams but having a shop put it in will cost you prolly 10grand give or take a few. If you are "saving up" then it aint gonna happen.

Maybe he has a decent paying job, and lives with his parents?

Maybe he is just talking out of his ass, about a swap that will never happen.

Maybe 99% of the stuff that gets talked about around here never gets done.

Who fucking cares. I'll believe it when I see it done.
