Default 92 Stanza swaps

I recently inherited a 92 stanza from my dad who passed away on monday, it's an automatic with the sohc fwd ka24 which has seen better days.. I've been reading mixed things about swaps.

Some people on a couple other forums say a bluebird sr20det will drop right in because the stanza is a bluebird over in Japan, while some other people are saying it takes alot of custom fab. to fit it in..

It seems to me like it would fit if there's a ka in it, just not sure if the bluebird would drop onto the stock mounts like a normal sr on a 240.

Any thoughts on this?

i would do a dual overhead cam KA turbo in it and call it a day. sorry about your dad. i can see why you want to stick with the car. i'd probably do the same for at least a while.

start with sr20forum, or maybe freshalloy.
fwd sr stanza would be cool i think, i like the way stanzas look.

Yeah, fwd dohc ka was sounding like the easier option. How is that junkyard in st. pete? Or do you have any other suggestions on finding a complete swap, hopefully ecu, harness, 5 speed tranny etc. I'll start checking other boards though to see how much work it is to drop a bluebird in it.

afaik it should use identical mounts, because the mount brackets sould be interchangeable between the two blocks.

i thought the stanzas came with the ga16 not the bigger ka24. i know that the earlier altimas came with th ka and the sentras came with the ga and the se-r came with the sr. but ive never looked in the engine bay of a stanza so im not positive, but it looks the same size of the sentra so thats why im wondering.

That's what I was hoping, thanks.

Yeah, they're really close to sentras, as well as altimas. But yeah, it's the single cam ka, 2.4 12v
