Um I know this, and nothing with that is illegal, as long as when it is reinstalled every thing is DOT legal, but it has to be done by a shop that can give out titles/vin #'s aka hot rod shops and stuff like that.
Now illegal would be the good ol' vin swap..

Kit cars are cars that are not mass produced, assembled from parts. Removing an engine, and then reassembling it does not justify a kit car, and your car will be seized if caught. Florida has already started cracking down on "kit car" gray market cars. If importing a skyline were that easy, people wouldnt have been paying motorex 20k to legalize their skylines.

yeah its a CA-180sx shell w/ the drivetrain removed. Dustin says that it was already legal and what not. He wants a fair price for the shell considering EVERYTHING works.. yeah he has a couple pretty bad ass cars coming in as well..

And Frank, I remember seeing someone selling a STOCK SR silvia on SFL; I saw it in person at OSW...pretty neat, but stock exhaust, stock vlsd, stock suspension omg...quiet drift.

im actually talkin to a guy out in cali about a pretty much stock car, but it has no title, and torgdor (lolz) wants 1,000 to get it titled. so it adds up to way too much time, money, and hassle for me to go get it and ship it back. if it was already titled, or titling it was maybe a tad bit less expensive (say $250 lol) then itd be different. ill just keep saving my pennies i guess. The car i really wanted to buy was unfortunately sold before i could get the money together.

as for the silvia, was it a black s13? i remember seeing one for sale around here, for a reasonable price.

Dont mess with grey market cars. Nothing is more stressful, than wondering if every knock on your door, is the feds coming to seize your car.
