so i almost didnt make it home tonight... when you give the car gas guess wut happens.... nothing. i drove all the way home with my hazards on at 10MPH. and still the same problem, one u drive it it wont start 4 a while. someone said a whole new computer is needed... true?

 

have you checked your spark plugs or fuel injectors? same thing happened to me a few times.. also could be your computer, what year is your car?

 

does it rev up at all in neutral??? maybe the trottle cable is broke

can u rev it up by hand under the hood??

and if it is the E.C.U. u can get them off here for less than 45$$

 

i already replaced plugs and wires. but not injectors... and ya it will iddle really wierd 4 a minute then corects itself and after its corect u can give it gas and drive normal. but if u give it gas while its idling wierd it just makes it worse.

 

oh and its a 92 KA

 

you know what I say.....by the time you get done fixing everything wrong with this car...you might as well bought another motor. 4cerealously

 

check your timing

try resetting your ecu and see if that helps

 

That's a bad maf sensor connector. The connection is loose and sending your car into limp mode.

 

^ from what i understand the ECU in his car was kinda manhandled when he bought it. Could be the maf like you said though since he just put a cone filter on the stock intake, he may have jostled it.

 

99.9999% of the time, the ecu is fine (man handled or not) when the car will even fire. They just make good scape goats for people that dont know wtf they are doing.

Meanwhile the MAF is the most important sensor, and can cause exactly what you are describing. Clean the maf connection, and check for post maf air leaks.

And quit smoking so much weed so maybe you can think straight and actually fix your car.
