Yes, the top perch must be adjustable as well. Heres a pic of a preload adjustable stance gr+ coilover:

Yeah I was just about to say stance. I have the GR+ pro (pictured) and they go low...real low. There's a kinda pointless thread on NICO right now about which coilovers go the the lowest and the general consensus is Stance.

Oh and they're inverted monotube.

I have a chance to get just the fronts of these in this thread though and I only need front S14's....I'm starting to wonder if its even a concern since the S chassis stuff will make the Q really low anyway.....

True.

You could contact stance (and other companies of course) and see if you can get just the fronts. When I ordered mine I asked if I could get the rears with the z32 fork lower mount and it wasn't a problem. Their customer service is great.

I think I will. I talked to Tanabe today, they are not double adjustable...
