Looking for a place to get some dry ice to take off the tar inside my 240. Of course, good price is always a plus. I am located in the Dunedin area if that helps.

 

take a look at different publix locations, they dont all have it but some do. i just finished removing my sound deadener a few days ago. im in saint pete and we could only find one publix that carried it. i believe it was on the corner of Bryan Dairy and Starkey, but that is a good place to start, just call different publix.

 

and some packing supply stores carry it for shipping stuff.

 

Cool. Thanks a lot for the info! Is it a pain to get it up with dry ice. I basically heard that the technique is to leave some of the dry ice on there for about 15 minutes and take an chisel and hammer to it. Sound about right?

edit: and it's not really a pain. leave dry ice on the sound deadening for a little bit, and chisel. the hardest parts will be around the elevated parts and firewall

 

its pretty straight foreward, i would recommend not trying to do the whole car at once. just buy enough dry ice to be able to cover an area, for example, the front floorboards. my best results were crushing it up really good and having almost a solid layer over the area. i would split the car into two areas, front and rear floorboard area; rear seat and hatch/trunk area. as stated, the hardest parts will be any area that are more vertical. for the vertical areas as well as the wheel wells, those can be easily done with a heat gun, if you have access, and a scraper. however, the heat gun will leave some residue that you will have to remove, i just sanded it off.

I bought the pellets, dumped onto my floorboard, waited about 10 - 15 minutes.
Move the dry ice and hit the floor board with a rubber mallet.
Like bullitt said divide the car into sections. oh, and don't touch the dry ice.
