it has nothing to do with the speed sensor, unplug your 5th gear sensor and thats it. It dosnt look at the actual speed of the car in mph its cuts it at a specific RPM in 5th gear. So if the ECU dosnt know its in 5th gear then it wont cut out at that given RPM.
I wouldnt do it because I have cruise control and I have to have a 5th gear sensor for it to work. It works in 4th gear too but who wants to cruise at 75mph in 4th gear.... plus I have no need at the moment to go over 100mph.

true, true....and true. I think i'll just go ROM tune then I guess, make the situation easier
