What I meant was that at least the SR has all factory stuff in it and that's a known entity. I've torn apart my fair share of allegedly "built" motors that the owners have sworn up and down contained certain parts that actually did not. The worst was a single cam Honda engine that someone Dremeled "JE" on to stock pistons. No idea why that one blew up...none whatsoever...riiiight.

 

hahahahahh JE dremeled on the pistons. that's awesome. "hay guys, check out my dart block" (as i write in sharpie marker haha)


martin, the thread is over with this statement. ok, so perhaps the wastegate was set at 14psi...but if it had "trouble" staying there, those peak numbers are probably from a huuuuge spike, or massive creep.

thats like saying i made 350hp on 8psi........but it spiked to 15 initially.

i'll throw $100 down on the dyno challenge too. the most power i think i've ever seen on a KA at 14psi was somewhere between 360 and 380whp, and that was on a larger turbo.

most people are hard pressed to push 400hp on ~20psi. a stock KA and that turbo will never make those numbers.

i hate to be a hater, and im not hating the numbers...just the boost level.

And wouldn't having slightly high compression pistons make more power on less boost? You would not be able to push nearly as much, but you would get more power per lb?

wow you guys are really into this car lol, i dont even think about it THAT much. its stupid fast right now compared to what im used to and im loving it, ive been in tons of high hp boosted cars and this car deff feels like what the dyno numbers say, if not, who cares, its still really really fun.and no to any dyno challenges, dont have the money just yet to gamble. maybe in about a month. like i said its going up to brotherz this weekend for a couple more pulls, well see exactly what it puts down, if its less, oh well.

actually i remember being told about this car a week or two ago everyone was impressed with the numbers it put down so its quite possiable the numbers maybe true. asspically with Alpha tunning. Hopefully they break out the video cam when it gets on the dyno

 

put a camera on the car and a defi or greddy boost gauge on it. hookup a boost load meter from winpep to the car as it dynoes and overlay...

Run a catch can on the pcv...shouldnt that work... Sell that radiator and get a nice ka one to get rid of that hose....Nice car cant wait to see it
