If 250whp is all ya want then .040 should be fine. Get a GT28R and a ROM tune and you're good to go. 13s easy.

giving you a more accurate bore, lowering the chance that the block will flex when the head is put on, which would cause all kinds of issues...

good to know.

#1 A torque plate is not as necessary on dense (import) iron motors as it is on a alum motor like a SR
#2 40 over is not too much.. and it has nothing to do with reliability
#3 check your ring gap and piston to wall clearance before you assemble
#4 if in doubt about your motor assembling abilites see my sig, it will save you time and money

sounds good........ but 1000 to build w/o install is alot
and only using OEM bearings when i have clivette main and rod bearings

OEM bearings are almost preferred in most builds not exceeding ludicrous power.

ive seen KAs bored .060" over in a few extreme cases and they were still fine, but i wouldn't go out and do that so you can have a big bore motor

the key is to bore it the least you can, but in many cases, especially during failed engines, is that boring past .020" is needed and thus .040" is the next step.

dont worry, when a KA block breaks, it won't be between cylinders...it will be out the bottom portion of #1 hehehe.

I sent #3 rod through my block when my KA went. I bought it with a rod knock with the intentions of seeing what it could take. I beat on it for a month, clutch dumps, burn outs, etc before it let go, but when it did what a noise. I blew a chunk out of my block big enough to see #3 and #4 rods, bent the hell out of the oil pan, and broke a big chunk off of my bellhousing.

that would have made for a great video...
I wanna get some little cameras rigged up under the hood and then do whatever it takes to blow the motor violently....
It would be even more badass to have High speed camera too. Actually get to see the block bulge and break and pieces go shooting out.
