Default Thinkin bout turbo'ing my car

Ok i just want a lil boost in my car. maybe like 4-7psi and i was thinking about a kit like this eBay Motors: 95-97 98 NISSAN 240SX/200SX INTERCOOLER+PIPING S14/KA24 (item 310032356358 end time Mar-20-08 18:37:57 PDT) then slapping a turbo on there just wondering what should i do to the motor internally before i do this like changin headgasket etc.

depends on what turbocharger your using and tuning for KA-T Headgasket is reccomended. but as far as the intercooler kit..the piping is designed for an SR and a KA Im confused? it says S14/15.... do your research tho or ask a KA-T guy.. and avoid ebay (sometimes*)

weakpoints: hg and pistons, you probably be fine with those, but i would do valves, valve seals, oil pump, water pump, and maybe other stuff dependent also on what you want to do and your budget

So your telling me to get new water pumps,and oil pump? What do u mean by valves and how much does that cost? Can u post up some links to where i can get all these parts at?

without rebuilding, as in valve seals, headgasket, headstuds, bearings, and a gasket set PLUS A GOOD TUNE, YES, YOU DO NEED TO ACTUALLY TUNE IT, then it will be reliable.

ebay stuff is good for intercoolers, exhaust manifolds, and exhausts. and get the s13 sr intercooler setup if youre giong to run a bottom mount ka-t setup

man honestly do some research on KA-T.org

When it comes to ebay you get what you pay for. there are something that you can be cheap on and others that you need to spend some cash on. or at least get used quality parts. e.g. i use to have a SSAC mani. Now Im running a JGS log. which will still allow me for my future power goal of 450 maybe plus.

w/ that being said think about current to future power goals. when you decide to go more power. You really dont wanna have to buy more shit then have to go thru the hassles of selling your old stuff off. ya feel me?

example of this i wanted 300. Now Im at 311 wheel. future goals im looking for more than that. w/ the exception of my trans its obtainable for more. again thats nothing more than a 300 trans and few other goodies.

get yourself a cometic head gasket for sure. you can run stock pistons up to 300. there are things to factor into that before you try that tho. miles condition and etc.

Ryans13 just corious. why should he get a new water and oil pump? stock does fine unless hes having some issues that you know about that where not posted.

cant agree more on the tune, head gasket and studs.

hell might decide its better to find a long block and rebuild it before starting on this build. specially if your motor is a bit tired.

jus skott: i say that as a recommendation, i dont think its mandatory, but if im turboing my 13 year old motor, that isnt meant to be turboed, i want a new oil pump for sure, and water pumps are cheap...why not?
