You cant "adjust" them like you normaly would on most other motors, You have to reshim the lifter bucket.

Get a chilton or FSM for any car with a Dohc KA and it will show you how to shim the valvetrain. After you take all the specific mesurements, go to Nissan and buy the shims according to what thickness you need.

PS it sucks, and you will have to take the cams out to insert the shims. Lable the shims so they go back in their correct spot.

I dont see the reason you need adjusting unless your running aftermarket springs/cams. Have you measured the clearences? Are they out of specification?

2500-3000 rpm is rod knock country unfortunately.

Do this..

Rev your motor to the point when it makes the noise. Then unplug injector #1 and see if the noise goes away.... while holding it still at that rpm. If not replug injector #1 and move down the line of injectors. If the noise goes away on any of the injectors you unplugged, you just found your rod knock.
