the stalling issue was a vaccum leak at the throttle body coupler. i do seem to have a problem with the coolant temp sensor plug. everytime i wiggle the plug, it seems to want to misfire.

i was thinking about doing a metal headgasket, and studs, but i was wondering if my stock head gasket would last at all. i will be running an air fuel controller so that wont be an issue.
get an hks metal head gasket, your stock hg is a ticking time bomb it's only a matter of time. get arp head studs, safc is fine for 200hp anything over 300 and id get a rom. ohm out your wires on your water temp plug and find the faulty wire and replace.

for 200 hp you will be more than fine with a felpro headgasket. i didnt do arp's but thats because i didnt know stock head studs were TTY when i did my rebuild or i would have. on 6 or 7 pounds i dont think you need them. if all youre going to use is an afc, pull 3 or 4 degrees of timing at the distributor. if you dont know much about tuning, dont worry about getting a wideband, just take it to XAT. if youre going to tune yourself, get a wideband.

see the thing about boosting a stock ka is once you get beat by a stock sr, you then turn up the boost past the shitty 6psi then pop.

but as far as a nice set up for a stock block kat i would go with what me and my buddy josh did when we were going kat.

its not super cheap, but its a really good set up

ebay bottom mount turbo mani for stock sr turbo location,
gtir t28 turbo (perfect for ka)
sr injectors (i have a set)
sr o2 housing
sr down pipe
sr intercooler kit (i have a hot pipe with HKS flange)
sr intake hose (i have one)
rome tune
maxima maf

this set up at 7psi shold give about 220 or so hp. maybe even as much as 250 at the wheels. and would be totally sick at 15psi.

Best KA-T setup IMHO. Thats why its been running for like 3 years with no problems.
