How much bigger (physically) is the VK56? Having the space to cram the engine in there would be my only real concern. If it physically fits within the engine bay pretty much everything else is conventional swap work. I can't think of another hurdle that you couldn't overcome one way or another, probably using an off-the-shelf trick from one of the other umpteen engine swaps people do to these cars. Depending on whether it's drive-by-wire, oil pan and sump configuration, transmission fit if you're using the stock tranny or adapters for some other tranny, having to go standalone, having to convert a returnless fuel system, fabbing headers and an intake, etc, it could get into some pretty tricky stuff but all things that have been overcome for other swaps.
