Does it smoke, does it burn oil, does it burn coolant?

And Paul, Sorry I can't afford a new car...not all of us are lucky enough

And It has a brand new fuel pump....we are boiling it down to possibly fuel injectors?

 

Maybe try some Lucas fuel treatment, use no other name brand. Stock injectors?

Maybe its just time for the yearly tune up. Assuming you have a KA, Change the plugs, fuel filter, cap, wires and rotor button then, set the timing. Good luck!

 

im having the same problem. my idle is all screwed up. i was driving last night and pushed the clutch in and i was in 4th gear and it just stalled out.

sometimes my car likes to idle high, at like 1500 then drops to 900 and sometimes when it drops, it likes to bog down and sputter like its going to die, but it doesnt.

sometimes you can smell like my car is burning something, but i really cant tell.

angela, let me know what fixes your problem so i can go straight to that to see if it works for me, so i can eliminate that first.

yours might be the EGR valve on the intake manifold. Looks like a space ship toward the back of the manifold. There is a vaccum line under it that cracks and leaks vaccum and will make the car run like crap. Normally idle goes up not down, but worth a look. Just a couple of bolts, replace the line and back in business..
