Default Turbo Hardbody Ka24E

I wanna turbo my Hardbodys ka24e.
Ive read all the links for turboing your ka24de, Which is basicly the same motor.

I wanna run like 8-10 PSI intercooled, Ive been thinking to either get a JWT computer or run an Apexi Neo. The Neo is probably what ill run because i can tune it for were im at better then JWT could. With a t28 turbo it will be more then enough.

I have a couple questions though, First off can i run boost through my factory manifold ? My throttle body is on top not the front?
Do i need any other tuning then an Apexi Neo ?(will have wideband)
What intercooler ?

And anyother things i should know about ?

My only worrie is my truck is an AUTO Will do a manual swap eventualy.

Honestly....

You are running a KA24E truck motor with a multipoint setup.........
1. These are made in Mexico blocks and are a lot weaker than the Japanese KA's .... which are weaker than anything on the planet.
2. KA24E and KA24DE are a far cry apart.
3. Transmission will go boom.

KA24E's .. esp Hardbody ones are extremely weak and failure prone.. Nissan even released a TSB and upgraded headbolts after tons of KA24E's in trucks and 240's started letting headgaskets loose.

It is not a question weather it will pop or not, it is a question of how soon.

Best thing to do is to buy a DE motor and have a reliable 225-250rwhp with a manual.

I knew the blocks were made in mexico, Didnt know they were any diffrent or weaker.

I thought the only diffrence between DE`s and E`s were dual cam and single cam ? Can you fill me in on some diffrences.

As for the tranny i Know its a go boom... Anyone know what auto it is ?

What Manual Tranny would i use with a DE swap ?
What would i need with a DE swap?
And what should i expect to pay for a DE?

Ha.. easy....

Not to blow my own horn, but I can safely say that I am one of the voices of experience in this Nissan forum. Therefore I will try to help someone from doing tons of work just to see it blow up within a day or two.

The $ he is going to put into a SOHC turbo setup could easily go into a DOHC motor and turbo setup as they are a lot cheaper. He will come out ahead by doing a good DOHC Turbo setup than rebuilding or getting more SOHC motors, since they pop so easy.
