Datsun Dreaming
i was in lake land tooday going to the mall and started to over heat with my new koyo rad come to find out my e-fan stopped working. so i shut it off everytime i had to stop and sit worked fine got me home.. the fan still works so i wired it to my key i think the sensor took a shit.. ohh and im ordering my flex lite fans tonight.yay
Nothing is wrong with an electric fan when it is done correctly. FWD cars survive with them successfully so why is a RWD car different other than operator error?
Give the e-fan hate a break. Its getting old and showing how jaded you are.

Hopefully the keywords there are "piece of shit" because electric fans are a much better solution than the stock manual garbage, the key is using quality shit and proper wiring.
I'll stick to having my LS1 pcm control things, triple relays for high/low series/parallel dual electric fans FTMFW.

full on track cars can take a lot more liberties with shit than a street car. bell bottom kits and crazy wheel fitment look cool sliding on a track, but when i want to drive to taco bus, im going to ruin all of that shit. so it just doesnt work for me. function over fashion.

Thank you. And for the love of god it doesn't even take redundant relays.
Like having a cracked stock fan with a shot clutch is the end all, be all of cooling technology. Gimme a break. I'm oldshool but moved past a flex fan.

your car isnt running, correct?
Yeah your right, the few dozen LT1 and LS1 harnesses i've done definetly mean I dont know exactly how i'll wire the fans in swap number this shit is getting old.

Go ahead and run the joke that altima fans are.
I've been eyeballing these for a while, would have gotten them a while ago, but the set I wanted was on backorder for a while, i'll check again soon.
HIgh Output Dual RAD Fans
4000 cfm, and no thats not some joke ass flexalite number, fal's draw what 15A ? 12A for both fans yet claim to flow 2500cfm ?
I'll go with something drawing more current each, than both fals combined.

It's pretty simple really. You just have to take a few things as givens. First, clutch fans move an assfuckton of air; probably in the 4000cfm range at their peak load. Second, to get a quality electric setup costs real money. Even if you use Altima fans (which will flow enough), you need a minimum of 2x 40A relays, 10ga wire, and a controller to do it right. Third, theres a lot of power involved. Those Derale, a Taurus fan on high, twin Altimas on high, they all pull over 50A while flowing similar cfm to a clutch fan. That's a lot of load on an alternator that only can generate 70A of current. Plus, your relays/wires need to be overrated as the surge current from switching a motor load can be double the normal current. Yeah, you can control when the e-fans are on, and hence when they're drawing power. But, nothing is free, and that power is getting used.
Short version: yeah, you can do electrics right, but you have to know what you're doing. And to do it right and cheap requires some real knowledge.
