but then again being slammed is the shit. i drove my car with 2inchs of ground clearance at the highest for 2 years and never once had a problem

with the SR the front sway bar protects the oil pan almost perfectly. and if you are a good enough driver you avoid those complcations all together.

but to each his own. if we wont our cars under the ground its our cars if you want fender gap and want to actually drive the speed limit on a brick or shitty road then cool have fun. lol

doing whatever the hell you want to your own car with out worries of other peoples opinions FTMFW

Both of my cars have a different amount of fender gap and both drive on brick streets...they both struggle. My hatch struggles more, 10 mph at the most. Everywhere I go, I feel like I am way under the posted limit, it seems like a car lower than the cameltoe would be struggling even more.

So what is the point of having a fast/powerful car that can't even manage to obtain the speed limit on 90 percent of Tampa's roads? Someone tell me...I am at a loss here.

Oh, and hitting the sway bar is fun. You end up bending the end links and in some cases, warping the holes around the control arms. Woohoo! Vanity is awesome!

I wanna take off my coilovers and just go from there. No suspension. Bet that would do great at an autocross.

Oh wait, nobody here knows what an autocross is.

Thank you.

Nobody knows about suspension travel in relation to real performance driving here. Slammed with a welded differential might work for drifting but to actually go around a corner, things are much different.

It's getting pretty bad with these cars. Almost as bad as the cut springs on Hondas back around 8 years ago. Form over function...the motto of ricers everywhere.

if i was actually taking my car out to sebring yes i would raise it up. but daily driving which is what we are discussing, form over function means nothing. i said the sway bar example in arguement to all the oil pan examples. the sway bar is there but i have never done more then get a slight scrape with mine

just because someone has their car stupid low dosent mean they cant comprehend the fundamentals of how performance handling and such occur. they are just not using said funtions on a daily basis enough for it to matter

not saying my car was the lowest by any means, but i drive through tampa more then twice a week, through downtown and all over hide park and i can drive pretty much all the streets just have to stay alert.

but once again, your car your choice

Actually, I do know about suspension travel, and I don't drift. I used to, still do on occasion, but for the most part, I am into road racing/auto-x/whatever. My car is slammed, but with the alignment that I have on their, it handles amazing. By your logic, JGTC cars, or NASCAR cars would all handle better if they were to be raised up a few inches? It's all in how each particular person prefers their individual car to be set up in accordance to that persons driving style.

I'm not trying to be defensive or anything like that, but any argument you can come up with, will always have a counter-argument. My car handles perfect for my driving style, and it takes corners with ease, all while being pretty slammed.

Not really sure where I am going with this, cause I am super tired, but it makes sense in my head.

That is all.

You cant compare a race car to a street car, they are running fully adjustable everything and can compensate for being that low. They run springs that are 3x stiffer than your coil-overs and usually have an even shorter stroke. The also run low because of center of gravity is better, it creates more downforce and they run on somewhat smooth tracks. If you ever look at the bottom of a GT car its flat, its completly covered in carbon fiber panels for the least amount of resistance.

If you want to be 'slammed' and scrape everywhere like some people want and still want your car to handle as best as possible you will need bigger wheels too keep it off the ground and more importantly spend 800$ + on all 4 Lower control arms to keep the geomety intact.

My car sits kinda high for having 17's and coil-overs, but I can still make it into my steeply banked driveway and I have yet to scrape over anything(practicality). And I can keep up with sport bikes in the corners.(function) Though it will be going down about an 3/4"- 1'' soon.

I also take my car out atleast twice a week to patterson and other fun roads up that way.
