My old sr block had almost the same scratches. I always use 3 coats of coper spray on my HG and never had any fluid or comperssion leakage. The head is a different story as its right in the compression area and any sharp little booger sticking out could cause detonation. I would think a machine shop could smooth those out no problem.

put my car back together real quick because i just noticed that the Q45 has some tire issues up front, they've been run underinflated for a while (never noticed it), so the outside of the tire is a bit worn, but with the little bit of OEM camber, the insides are down to the nylon/steel belt... JOY, so i had to slap the 14 together, which is fine, as i'm getting it ready for CFRF or Desoto, or maybe both this month...

went for a drive, did a sweet 1-2-3 rolling burnout, got traction in 4th, this car is gonna be so fucking awesome to slide for real, and not the silly little street shit i do around town w/it...

I'd rock a bazooka, enough bass for a good sound system in a S14, and it'll fit on the upper inside deck of the trunk, space you never really use anyways..

I'm pretty sure I can make the 12 fit between the two 8's but yeah it would rattle like hell.

I had a 10 mounted in the side of my S14 trunk. JL in a 0.5cuft sealed box, and it cleared the trunk lid arms.

Getting good sound in an S14 is rough. The cars are too loud for good SNR, and mine had a huge midbass hole using the stock locations.

Block surface:

the third pic down looks like the dowel came out of the block w the head and who ever pulled the head dropped or placed the head (with the dowel still in it) back on the deck of the block..

the other scrape on the bottom of the head towards the edge looks like a flat head was used to separate the head from the block...

Head:

my lag is your courtesy head start

ATTENTION.... installing a head gasket, head studs or pistons and rods in your otherwise STOCK engine dose not make it a "built" engine! stop listing you cars for sale saying they are built when its not!!

since i had to put my car back together, i felt i should go ahead and put the engine bay together how i like it, and not the somewhat janky way the prev owner had it...

before...

after (still more to do, but check out the OEM sekzorz)...

shout out to Jr_SS for the coil pack cover, Joey V for the OEM shroud/Mizu Rad, and some dude on Zilvia for the other OEM parts i needed... still a work in progress though... after the events, I'll be yanking it all back out and doing a full tuck, while maintaining a OEM appearance...
