any difference in length, between s13/14 sr20 transmissions? Or maybe s13 w/ ka box?

I got Dan's aluminum drive shaft from Patrick's car, and when i went to install it into my car its too long.

we both have s13 sr20s
stock differential (open vs his 180sx vlsd)
s13 coupe chassis

only difference I can think is motor mounts, I have solids he has unknown stockish ones. But when I look at my engine, it looks more forward than most not more rearward.

I am trying to get this done today so I can make the event!

 

Ok, now I am confused. The driveshaft is 1" longer than a stock 2 piece unit, but fit dan/patricks car fine.

 

Differentials are different lengths? Is one of them an ABS diff?

Also, does your transmission still have the stock dust cover on it? Knock it off if it does...

 

AFAIK the diff in patricks old car is in a standard housing. But I've yet to get under the car and look around.

Both diffs are non-abs, tail shaft cover is removed.

 

Repainted some stuff on the inside and outside black again. Fixed my radio trim. Aligned the double din headunit so it was even. Detailed the inside. Yay.

 

Punctured my brand new N-Flow koyo radiator, ordered a new one. Once that's in, car is finished. (other than wiring in climate control and installing coilovers...)

 

Why order a new one? Just have it fixed.
