Datsun Dreaming
Do you even have any actual data as to how much larger one is over the other? Because its not enough to make a world ending difference. If it where to be for an engine swap I look more at driving dynamics than just some stats and numbers when building a street car.
Why are you bringing up an engine with a factory blower to compare to an engine that has 1.2 liters less displacement and no blower? Also there is the $10k price difference in crate motors. But yeah good argument there.

Comps got a little program, to show what your engine will make with different grinds of their cams, it accepts all sorts of input changes, when you've got some time dan, download it, plug in some stock L92 head flow numbers, or even LQ9 numbers, use the 4.0 bore for the LS2/LQ9, or the 4.065 bore of the L92 block
But use the 3.27 stroke of the 4.8
See if you dont get some wtf numbers for rshared_pm capability.
Off top of my head the L92 block and heads, with 4.8 crank, and the same cam i have (nothing huge) will make about 585 HP at something like 7500, or 8000 rpm
Thats the same power as your GT1 lemans GTR, with a set of unported production heads, and a very mild cam.

You said american v8, i compared the two, you are the one who stated american v8 not me.
If you want driving dynamics, ask chris about that spreadsheet and when he plugged in the numbers from the dyno I provided him.
I guarantee you it was no sort of high strung cant move the car around setup.
Hell if you really want to look at driving dynamics and how something will drive, heres a dyno sheet from a mild cammed LSx setup

LS3 crate engine $6675
I found 6999 for the ford 5.0
LS3 crate 436HP/428Ftlbs
Ford 5.0 412HP/390ft lbs
So, less power, bigger package, similar price.
Ohh the tires...
the poor poor tires
who will save the tires !
Who cares, 400hp and 390tq is way more than enough and it makes more power up top which is where I want it. Its also got plenty of room to make more for not a lot of money. You've yet to give any actual data on how much bigger the 5.0 is. I doubt its that much bigger than a VH or VK and those fit in an S14 just fine.
