Almost inhaled some pepsi

OT, picked up a front and rear main seal for the SR, as well as the proper throwout bearing for the ogura clutch, got a bunch of paint stripper and started stripping the engine bay of the typical "yeehhh uhh letsss gitt err dun" spray paint the engine bay job.

Hopefully tomorrow the engine bay will be:

HOK KP2CF primer
PPG Global sealer
PPG Deltron Ice silver metallic base
HOK UFC35 clearcoat

3qrt.... however under operation, it isnt 'full' so it really only holds about 2.5qrts. its assisted by the baffle kit in the pan from improved racing, and the melling oil pump i put in. also did the ls2 beefier timing chain swap while in there.

yea yea, first with proper and healthy oil pressure

thought i was gonna drive her today, but few things left like water temp/fans and clearancing the rear fenders a little more etc etc

Pulled it. Tried to extract the studs in the engine bay because i'm a lazy moron. Was unsurprisingly unsuccessful. Then pulled all 6 bolts that hold the housing to the CHRA, and the housing would not separate... 6,000 miles of heat cycling, I guess.

Finally I pulled the whole turbo, I'll take it to a machine shop tomorrow so they can extract the studs for me.

Sigh

Sure, great idea, instead of paying a couple bux to have the thing mounted up on a drill press and properly taken care of, he can just hit it with a hand held drill, drill them out a bit crooked, and fuck up a $300 exhaust housing, brilliant !
