a V mounted intercooler setup is when you make a custom bracket for the radiator that makes it sit at an angle like / that. then a bracket is fabbed for the intercooler to sit above it like \ that (more or less). this ensures that the FMIC does not block the radiator, restricting air flow to it. It is a very efficient setup, not to mention extra baller supreme, but there is a lot of fab work envolved, which may not make the bang worth the buck, pending budget of course.

Should this question be asked in a more general location, such a the Power Adders or in General because nissan isnt the only one running on IC.

Solution: Get a thicker/bigger radiator and good E-fans
Koyo rules...godspeed is a cheaper alternative

the other part of the equation that has been left out is your power goal. side mounts are decent, and some Japanese companies even make replacements for them if your power goals arent that high. But there is a point where it just doesnt have the volume for the air. The other thing is, if you do run a side mount, you should cut a hole in your bumper to allow air to get to it directly. Not doing this will choke the intercooler, not letting it get propper amount of air and not cooling well, hindering its performance.

hope this all helps with ur decision!
