i was never saying you couldnt all i was saying is with the KA its lot of time and lot of money... sure you can make the motor rev high but with a long ass stroke like the KA has there would be no point it makes power low thats why there is no point going up high. i know KA's can make shit ton of power... but i like being a smart ass just cause when i am the thread erupts in flames lol you guys need to take this shit less serious and as for projekt whole time were flaming on TR at each other were talking about other shit on aim lol...

you can buy cams $350
you can buy alum or titanium rods (only rods light enough for that stroke) to hold 9K for $4000-$5000
you can buy pistons for $450
you can buy my assembly time on all this for $2500

total $10-$13K

OR

you can just turbo what you have and be happy with the fact a KA is a long stroke ... low rev motor that makes shit tons of torque way below what a high revving short stroke motor ever will.

Martin
damn Martin that is one expensive recipe for high revs.

lol, marble hatch. yea thats one expensive recipie indeed. 89hatch yea I hear what your sayin. I guess I wont worry about increased redline. was just an idea, wonderd how it might be done. always good to know a little more about motors. Some one shoudl write a really good book about building engine, imports at that and target the typical garage builder/some things be done at shop. extensive knowledge on machine shop work and waht it dose, fuel options for what kind of build, turboing, rev options and traction. the whole 9 yards with like maybe a 2 volume series one that goes really technically indepth. I know my spelling blows lol.

those books kinda exsist... if you are building a 350 chevy....

the problem with Imports, is it isn't "old enough" for there to be a cut and dry type thing. we're still learning how to do it. but yeah, a good book, or series of book is needed.
as for the whole reving out to a million RPMs, it would be expensive, and you'd probably have to machine alot of custom parts to take advantage of the higher RPMs. the stroke would have to be addressed. if the car is going to be entered in like the SCCA or something like and spend the rest of its life on the track as a race car, then it might be worth it. but if you plan on driving it, you wouldn't have any power in the street, unless you could figure out how to vtec the KA. that way you could have the street power you need to drive, and still make power in the higher RPMs. Would it be badass, yes, would it make alot of power, yes. is the outcome worth the money it takes, probably not. but hey, we can dream of a 16,000 rpm redline, with quad stage vtec, twin turbo, bored and stroked to 3.2 liter, KA....
