Here is what i have learned by experience. I had a coupe with a DOHC KA. I tried different setups and it ran the best with a stock intake box and a 2.5in catback. The cold air intake made my car stall and run funny on the highway and the 3" exhaust killed my torque. Now i have a hatch with an S14 KA, cold air intake, and 3" exhaust. It still kills my torque but im running a different ECU and it solved my stalling problem. Also it runs awesome on the highway.

Can i say that i blew my SR three times and now im back to KA N/A. I have not turboed a KA yet but i was able to run 14.1 with a 75 shot of nitrous.

can i say that i have seen many a ka run on boost for a while and theres 4 kids in my town with sr's.. well had sr's.. 1 blew the other doesnt run right.. ever.. i beat him with my ka non turbo.. on his stock sr swap.. and im taking his sr parts to turbo my ka so i can beat up on the sr's down here with fmic and all that shit.. my setup will consist of

sr t25
sr injectors
sr smic
maxima maf
3" turbo back exhaust (ebay)
ebay manifold..

that should be good to get me mid to low 14's.. now ill run that setup and come race your stock sr... oh and after i beat you... i dont want you to pull the my car is reliable bs.. cuz any car with a good tune is reliable.. theres people driving 800whp cars that are 5 years old that i know of.. so dont get pissed and argue about the sr being a better motor because you spent 2k plus to swap it in and didnt get the performance you wanted.. dont get me wrong its a good motor.. any nissan motor is a good motor but im just tired of hear kids who get an sr swap done thinking they are godlike now.. so put some cash in ur mouth and ill race you when i finish pieceing together my kit.. same boost levels same setup one ka one sr.. and money says ill take you...

I think someone is just jealous because kid's KA-T ran longer than your SR and was faster. Oh and it's not like it was stock either.

There you go.

Why is it that the KA-T that XAT built for bandit/badger just blew up after 2 years of drifting in FormulaD?

Because of the tune they put on it. If you run a car with a shitty tune or no tune, there are going to be problems.

Also, there are a few people in this thread antagonizing an SR vs KA debate, and it's too bad more members can't see this.

i got a bad SR20... plain and simple i didnt select the motor.... i was running at 125 psi on all 4cyl... thats low as fuck... my buddy Chris's SR20 had 167 across all 4! which is perfect. my shit would never boost properly and had way too many probs... yet i still walked a Stage 2 mopar SRT 4, and a I/H/E S2000... and that was on 10 PSI not bad for a bad motor... cant really bash SR's and its all in the TUNE! and plus you just said it yourself youve been through SHIT ton of KA's to find right tune. my motor never poped and is actually still running out there. if you do the math you would know that doing a CORRECT KA-t Cost a little more than SR20, all the parts, and custom shit and not to mention Tune... with SR you drop it in and roll out... im sure if you built a fully built KA it would be good... but im more for the SR20... and will rock another soon!
