will a tranny from an 89 240 fit an 87 hard body??, both 5 speed

 

no the hardbody has a much noticable longer tailshaft. im sure someone on the site will have a way to swap parts to make it fit. But just swaping tranny for tranny nope.

 

well i have the drive shaft from the 240 too? i need to know if this will work asap! unless sum 1 could get me a hardbody tranny for cheap!

 

im pretty sure its straight if you just swap bellhousings.

 

double check things like bellhousings and stuff like that.
The trannies themselves should be the same. they might no mount up the same though. you ought to be able to tell just my looking at it. if it is defferent then swap it out.
