Default just going through some ideas here

whats a good/cheap standalone ecu to run a KA with?

also while im on the ka subject. im gonna be swapping my dohc ka for another dohc ka, just a basic swap. is there anything that im gonna run into that i should know about other than the basic stuff. like is there going to be any snags on this swap that any other car wouldnt have while be swapped with a new engine of the same type?

thanks.

Why would you run a standalone/piggyback on a stock KA?

Unless you were boosting it, it's unneeded.

my plans are not for boost but for something a little more different. and yes it would require a standalone.

Well then megasquirt is the way to go if you are looking for something cheap.

It's not shitty or anything, you just gotta put it together yourself.

does crome have nissan applications? and do they work well though. never heard of it yet. but that would be a good option.

megasquirt, or rom tune if u got it cheaper than the local ones (they are good, but no n/a ka guy is gonna run a $500 rom tune).

buy the burner, eccs.hybridka.org or whatever it is, find specs, solder, etc etc. then just spend the $ on tuning.

something different, eh? so all motor, hi comp, ITBS?

nitrous? (fastest ka and first in 10's was nitrous, 8 years ago)

roots s/c?

one should always remember

a ka not turbo will require in the range of 2,000$ just to see 200 hp

sr cost 1,800

...

...

dont say i want to be different...
...

...

...

just keep it stock with exhaust, header, intake

thats all a ka is good for besides being thrown off overpasses
