just going through some ideas here
im looking to spend maybe $500 over a period of time doing this, thats if i even decide to stay KA. i might just save a little more and do your na-t setup. who knows. i thought it would be cool to unlock some tourqe in the ka and possibly get it more response.

there no good cheap standalones out there. megasquirt is cheap but its the biggest piece of shit ever. I wouldnt get that unless you can build it yourself, know your electronics, and dont mind riding around with an oscilloscope. Rom tune or bikirom for the best bang for the buck. I might have an s14 ka rom-ecu with a 2 step wired in for sale soon.
Are you swapping out an s13 ka for an s14? you shouldnt have any problems at all. I just did my wife's swap in a day it was painless and easy.

one should always remember
a ka not turbo will require in the range of 2,000$ just to see 200 hp
sr cost 1,800
...
...
dont say i want to be different...
...
...
...
just keep it stock with exhaust, header, intake
thats all a ka is good for besides being thrown off overpasses

and thats not doing fun stuff like SOHC pistons. Something is telling me that at 11:1 compression, along with the mods in that link, would yeild more than an sr swap and you would still have money left over for gas and all that jazz
as for the swap itself, the only thing you have to watch out for is different brackets. we got a KA that we thought was an S13 and didn't realize it wasn't until nothing lined up right, the A/C and power steering brackets are different.... but only sometimes, cuz i've heard that everything is the same too.....
my advice is to just pay attention to details. its not a hard swap as long as you pay attention to the little things.
good luck and have fun
